Hip 7: Street Cry x Lady Lochinvar by Lord at War- Lady lochinvar is the dam of the AP Indy stallion Master Command. This colt could run on dirt or turf, and is bred to get a distance, as Lord at War was a winner at 10F. One to watch in the future.
Hip 13: Tapit x Lassie’s Legacy by Deputy Minister- This filly is inbred 5x3 to blue hen mare Weekend Surprise. Damsire Deputy Minister is also the damsire to such routers as Rags to Riches and Curlin. In addition, Tapit produces wonderful fillies, so this one is a good one to follow.
Hip 143: Tapit x Peeping Fawn by Danehill- Tapit is the hot sire and this mating to Peeping Fawn could make him hotter. Peeping Fawn was an outstanding runner in Europe, and this mating could put him in a new level, as he could be getting a great grass runner. This colt comes from the same female family as Rags to Riches, Jazil, Casino Drive, and Man of Iron, and the dam is a ½ to Thewayyouare.
Hip 149: Bernardini x Pilfer by Deputy Minister- This colt is a full brother to To Honor and Serve. Expect this one to be a miler, but he could stretch to 10F, as he’s another one with Deputy Minister as damsire.
Hip 154; Tapit x Ponche de Leona by Ponche- This is a ½ sister to Breeders Cup Classic winner Mucho Macho Man. Dam Ponche de Leona has 5 foals of racing age, 3 to race, and all three of those are winners. With Tapit’s propensity for siring good fillies, keep an eye on this one.
Hip 199: Tapit x Rhumb Line by Mr. Greeley- This full to Zazu and Flashback continues an amazing mating line. This will be probably be a precocious one, good up to 9 furlongs.
Hip 244: Medaglia D’Oro x She’s a Winner by AP Indy- This colt is a ½ to Bluegrass Cat. I prefer Medaglia d’Oro’s daughters, but if any mare can give him a good son, it’s this daughter of AP Indy, who is a sister to Girolamo and Daydreaming. That’s a great family with a LOT of black type.
Hip 273: Medaglia D’Oro x Speed Succeeds by Gone West- Another colt that could give Medaglia d’Oro a leg up in male runners! Speed Succeeds has produced G1 winner Brilliant Speed and black type runner Souper Speedy. She is a half sister to the great race mare Serenading, and the second dam is a full sister to Belmont winner Touch Gold and a half sister to noted sire With Approval.
Hip 306: Tiznow x Supercharger by AP indy- This colt is a ½ to 2010 Derby winner Super Saver and black type runner Brethern. Supercharge is a sister to producer She’s a winner, Girolamo, and Daydreaming. That’s a serious racing family. This colt may not sell well because he’ll most likely take a while to develop, but that doesn’t make him any less formidable.
Hop 325: War Front x Take Charge Lady by Dehere- I fully expect Willis Horton to dig deep for this filly, as he did for the sale topper at Saratoga, when he bought a War Front filly out of a daughter of Take Charge Lady. The dam has proven herself with high-class runners Will Take Charge and Take Charge Indy. War Front does have a few notable fillies, such as Summer Soiree, so I look forward to this filly running.
Hip 331: Medaglia D’Oro x Tap Your Heels by Unbridled- Truly one to get excited about a filly by Medaglia d’Oro out of Tap Your Heels, making her a ½ sister to Tapit. Medaglia d’Oro produces amazing fillies, so let’s keep an eye on this one!
Hip 355: Congrats x Turko’s Turn by Turkoman- If I were buying, this would most likely be the first one I’d toss from my list, just because I’m not convinced Congrats is the greatest sire. However, this is a ½ brother to Point Given, and the dam is also the 2nd dam of Medjool, who was a useful horse in lower graded stakes.
Hip 389: Street Cry x Where’s Bailey by Aljabr- So, here we have a filly by Street Cry out of a ½ sister to Zenyatta, which, I believe, makes her a ¾ sister to Zenyatta. No clue if this one will run like Zenyatta or be flighty like Eblouissante, but she’s worth a look and most likely won’t go for a sky-high price.
Hip 460: Bernardini x Avaknowsthecode by Cryptoclearance- Avaknowsthecode is a proven producer, having produced Keyed Entry and Justin Phillip among others. Could be her best days are behind her, but you never know.
Hip 506: Distorted Humor x Cascading by AP Indy- I honestly like this colt just for his female family. Dam Cascading was a black type winner in Canada. She is a ½ sister to Streaming, and their second dam is (once again) Better than Honour. There is no escaping her at this sale (and for good reason).
Hip 575: Street cry x Delta Princess by AP Indy- You don’t get much more blue-blooded than this. A Street Cry half brother to Royal Delta.
I think that says it all.
Hip 591: Giant’s Causeway x Dreaming of Summer by Siberian Summer A full brother to MGSW Creative Cause.
Hip 630: Bernardini x Fantastic Shirl by Fantastic Light - Most likely a turf horse, this colt is out of a ½ sister of Shakespeare and Perfect Shirl.
Hip 616 Pulpit x Enchanted Rock by Giant’s Causeway - A ½ brother to Verrazano and a full brother to El Padrino. This one will be best up to 9 furlongs, but he may be just a big fragile, so I don’t see a long career.
Hip 747: Galileo x Justenuffheart by Broad Brush- Another blue-blood. By the top stallion in the world, this colt is a ½ brother to Dreaming of Anna and Lewis Michael. The dam is a ½ sister to Kittens Joy and Precious Kitten, so this will be a top turf runner.
Hip 1046 : Medaglia d’Oro x Brisquette by Unbridled’s Song- Another Medaglia d’Oro filly, this one is a ½ sister to Medal Count and Garden District (who once defeated Rachel Alexandra).
